Services for non-profit groups
We offer three different types of aid to non-profit groups.
Literature display, sale of non-profit publications, and in store event. Literature display
We will happily display posters or brochures for your group. We
have an outdoor bulletin board you are free to use. Please come into
the store to get a plastic sheet protector if we’re open. This will
protect your poster from rain so it will last longer. If it is an
ongoing effort, we can also laminate an 8 X 11.5 poster. We also have a limited amount of counter space for brochures,
newsletters, and trifolds. If you have never brought us brochures
before, please call us or come into the store during normal hours. Once
we have received materials from you several times, you can mail them in
or leave them in our outdoor drop off. We have a limited number of
literature stands, so if you have one, please provide one.
Sale of publications
Has your non-profit group produced a book or pamphlet as a
fundraising item? We can sell them in the store and on our website. All
proceeds go to your organization.
We can also add your literature to our listing on a major book
engine, if you wish. However, as we must pay a fee for listing through
that engine, the fee will be deducted from your proceeds.
In Store Events
For an in store event, you will receive a percentage of our in
store sales that day. We handle all the organization, so your group can
focus on their core programs, not on fundraising events.
What you get:
- 25% of the net in-store sales for that day
- Promotion of the upcoming event on our website and in our store
- Ability to sell your own group’s non-book merchandise at the event
EXCEPT unpackaged food. (we have no facilities to handle food) Packaged
food is fine. (such as Girl Scout cookies, band’s selling candy, etc.)
We have a limited amount of indoor space, but do have a large sidewalk
area available for use in good weather.
- A donation box on the counter for the day. (we do not normally allow donation boxes)
Conditions:
- You must be a registered non-profit, in the process of
becoming a registered non-profit group, or subsection of a larger
non-profit group. (example: individual Girl Scout troops are part of
the Girl Scouts USA, which is a registered non-profit.)
- You must give us at least three week’s notice that you would like to hold an event
- In store events will only be held on Sundays or Mondays, and will last no more than four hours.
- You may not get the first date you request. We will only do one per week, and may have other commitments some weeks.
- We reserve the right to turn down any fundraising request for any reason.
- You will be responsible for publicizing the event to your members.
