Rage comes in two variations, Apocalypse and Tribal War. Both are set in the same game world, but were produced by different companies (White Wolf Game Studios and Five Rings Publishing Group, respectively). Apocalypse is also know as "Classic Rage." Tribal War is also known as "Rage Across Las Vegas (or RALV)", "Snake Eyes", or "New Rage". The two version are mechanically imcompatable.

So which one do you want?

Apocalypse:

emphasizes the heroic conflict between the Garou and the Wyrm
allows you to play the Wyrm as a faction
has a more "realistic" art style
depicts more graphic fantasy violence
has very 'loose' mechanics making it a better casual play game than tournament game

Tribal War:

emphasizes the conflict between the Garou, conflict with the Wyrm is secondary
you may only play Tribal or Auspice oriented packs, no Wyrm faction
has an art style reminiscent of Japanese anime
depicts very little graphic violence
has very structured mechanics somewhat similar to Legend of the Five Rings
