How long does it take?
It usually takes us about a day to locate most books. We then call or e-mail you with information on the price, condition, and any other relevant data about the book. Once we hear back from you that, yes, this is the book you wanted and are willing to pay that price, it takes between 1-2 weeks to arrive. If ordered with express shipping (which usually costs more) it can arrive in 3-5 days. If the copy we located is outside the US it may take significantly longer. We tell you at the time if it will be coming from overseas.

How much does it cost?
We charge a 15% commission on ordering a book. So for every $10 the book costs to order, we will charge a $1.50. If you order a $10 book, you are charged a $1.50 finder’s fee. If you order a $500 book, you will be charged a $75 finder’s fee. We will not order books costing more than $500. You will be charged sales tax. The price we quote you when we call you will include all the charges, including the shipping, finder’s fee and sales tax.

How do I pay, and do I owe anything up front?
For items under $50 you owe nothing up front.

For books over $50, the deposit amount is show below. Payment can be made through e-mail (and credit card) with PayPal. If you will be coming in to pay in person, you may pay with cash, check, money order, cashier’s check, or money order. We do not accept credit cards at the store. You must give us the deposit before we will place the order.

Can I use store credit towards paying for a special order book?
No.

How do I get my book?
We have it shipped to the store. We examine it when it arrives to make sure it matches its description. If it was damaged in shipping or not as described, we will handle returning and replacing it. Once we’ve determined the book has arrived in good condition and is as described, we will call you to come pick it up. The balance is due when you come pick it up.

Can I have the book shipped to me instead of picking it up at the store?
No. If something goes wrong with the order (book is damaged, not as described, lost, etc) it makes it extremely difficult for us to fix the problem if it was shipped to you.

What information do you need to be able to order a book?
We need the following information. You can either fill in the order form and send us an order by e-mail, OR call us at the store at (203) 743-6938. Items with a * next to them are required. If you don’t fill in an optional field, we will ignore that and simply get you the book that best fits your other criteria and is the lowest priced.
